¿Quién soy?
A little background information about me. My family is from Central and South America. It was during this time that I was introduced to the different indigenous cultures and ethnic groups. Then, when I was in third grade we moved to the United States, where I have continued to learn about the various cultures living within the United States.
I am passionate about traveling, especially to Spanish speaking countries. I have visited Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Colombia, Belize, and Jamaica! My favorite memories are celebrating Christmas, New Years Eve, and Semana Santa in Guatemala with my family. I also love animals and during my free time I've volunteered at the Chicago Animal Control. I am against animal cruelty and have been a vegetarian for 8 years. I have three wonderful dogs: Maximo, Gigi, and Sasha. Some of my favorite things are boots (I love to wear boots), documentaries, music, and my favorite cartoon character is Mafalda (you will see her throughout our website).
I taught Spanish at Solorio Academy High School, Rachel Carson Elementary school, and Washington Irving Elementary School before moving to Skinner West.
